HISTORY

Fronteras Unidas Pro Salud is the result of a partnership between Mexfam (a respected Mexican family planning organization) and Planned Parenthood of San Diego & Riverside Counties (PPSDRC).

In 1988, Mexfam and PPSDRC formed a historic partnership to improve sexual health on both sides of the border. Four years later, this organization became an independent non-profit agency, Fundación de Proyectos Fronterizos. The organization grew, and in 1996 changed its name to Fronteras Unidas Pro Salud to better reflect its binational to healthcare.

Summary

Fronteras Unidas Pro Salud is dedicated to the idea that healthcare is a right that transcends political borders and economic lines. Everyone, no matter where they live or how poor they are, should be able to access affordable, high-quality healthcare services. At Fronteras Unidas Pro Salud, we do not wait for clients to come to us. We seek them out. And we will continue to seek them out until all Mexicans receive the healthcare they deserve.
